Privacy
Protect Green Belt runs campaign websites for residents' groups. On this site we only collect what we need to reply to groups who want a campaign, we never sell or share it for marketing, and you can ask us to delete anything about you.
Questions, or a request to see or delete your information: write to us with the start a campaign form and say so in the message.
What we keep, and why
Starting a campaign
- Your name, your email address, where you'd like to protect, the council and your message. Only the people who run Protect Green Belt see them. We use them to reply to you and, if you go ahead, to set up your campaign.
- If no campaign comes of it, we delete your request within a year. Ask us and we'll delete it straight away.
Spam protection
- To stop people flooding the form, we keep a scrambled code made from your internet address. It can't be turned back into the address.
Signing in
- Only the people who run the platform sign in here. To sign in we email a code; we keep a record of codes sent (scrambled, not the code itself) to stop misuse, and a sign-in cookie keeps them signed in on that device for 30 days.
Each campaign's own website
Each campaign's website (for example nestongreenbelt.org.uk) has its own privacy page, which says what that campaign keeps about people who sign up for its email updates, volunteer or report a development. The campaign's organisers look after it.
Who else handles it
- Cloudflare hosts the website, stores the information, runs the "Verify you are human" check and sends our emails.
We don't use advertising, analytics or tracking.
Cookies
- A short-lived cookie that shows a message after you submit a form. It expires after a minute.
- The "Verify you are human" check (Cloudflare Turnstile), which may set its own cookie to do its job.
- The sign-in cookie, for the people who run the platform.
Your rights
You can ask to see what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, as above. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
